One benefit to acupuncture is that it is a drug-free way to minimize pain. With drugs, people often develop a tolerance, or the need for an increased dosage to achieve the same required effect. However, this does not happen with acupuncture.
Results are often immediate, or in just a few sessions depending on duration of the pain or disease. Chronic cases take longer to resolve than acute cases. Acupuncture has been used across the world for thousands of years.
The National Institute of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization recognize that acupuncture is safe and effective for treating a wide range of health concerns. Acupuncture works by restoring energetic balance to the body and mind. This is achieved through stimulation of specific acupuncture points throughout the body. We stimulate these points using very fine painless disposable needles.
We also incorporate Cupping therapy and Gua Sha. Cupping therapy involves glass cups that create a suction to pull toxins out of the body, eliminate obstructions and relax the muscles and Gua Sha is a healing technique to remove stagnation that involves cutaneous stimulation through a round edged instrument. Both therapies are very effective with pain.
